A Stranger at Platform No.8

Rohan was sitting on the platform near his luggage looking over the running trains on the bustling platform. It was a breezy afternoon. The wind lifted his hair from the back of the neck. Rohan was thirteen and his parents, father and stepmother, were sending him all alone to a boarding school as they thought that he was old enough to live on his own terms. Although he always looked for positive nuances in every situation but this time he was grappled with a queer feeling of unease. He could not place the source of his discomfort. Suddenly, a screech snapped him out of his thoughts . There were bags being pulled on the floor and people were ambling on the platform as their train arrived. Rohan was looking at families waiting-their mother taking care of their children while others laughing with each other- while he was all alone with no one to take care of him. He had just one person to wait for- his friend Dev who went to buy food and water at the station. He reminisces of his

I was very happy with the result as not only I learnt new techniques of colouring with oil pastels but my art teacher made the process interesting. He gave random objects and I had to imagine a picture related to it. I used to then draw my imagination on paper.  πŸ¦†πŸŸ πŸ‰πŸŽπŸπŸ¦†πŸŸ πŸ‰πŸŽπŸ

Sight to Sight

This sketch is special for me as this was one of my first sketches in, I ever tried seriously. When I decided to make it, I did not feel much confident , but I prove myself wrong when I saw the result. This may not be the best painting but a piece which I feel satisfied with as I tried something out of my comfort zone . I chose an eye as my first sketch because eyes look and speak aesthetically if one looks into it. It is also said " Eyes speak all the words that the mouth can't "  which can be seen in the real world as one never makes an eye contact while speaking a lie as eyes are like a door to the soul of the person. So, it is the charm which attracted me to make the sketch of an eye.

A Coffee Mystery

It was my first day in the beautiful coffee shop. The aroma of powdered coffee filled the environment. The hustling noises of trees, chirping of birds and people drinking sips of coffee added to the beauty which made the place lively . I was overwhelmed by the behavior of the owner Kate- a 20-year-old girl who helped her mother make this place brick by brick and now it stands as a famous cafΓ© in the busy streets. She was kind enough to give me an opportunity to work at her shop. She was a great boss but also a better friend. When I was desperate for a job, she came to help me.   I also promised her that I would put my heart and soul to work and help her coffee shop to gain huge profitsπŸ’― because I knew how their sales were not high πŸ’Ήaccording to their expectations and she needed help. Moreover, her mother was out of station to attend a wedding and Kate did not want her mother to disappoint due to their work. I joined work in a week and gradually learned the work there. She

Lockdown Creativity

Lockdown gave many opportunities to create something beautiful , spare time to do some extra-curricular activities and give time to oneself. This brought out the cre ati ve aspects of everyone as they were involved in doing something productive. One could discover themselves and their inner self b y doing activities which they find interesting and find peace in. I too love painting because it gives me happiness a nd helps me to express myself. I saw this painting of Lo rd Kr ish na on one of the social media sites and was attracted towards it when I saw it at the first go. It seemed very peaceful and spiritual. So I started painting it in the best way I can and when I finished it I was filled with contentment . Whenever a student starts with an assignment always the result gives him/her happiness because at last all the hard work that was put in pays off. The colours that were shown also were so v i b r a nt a nd beautiful that it looked like colours were splashed togeth
